Whether you long to reconnect with cherished moments or uncover the hidden lessons in your past, On Memory Pond invites you to wade in, reflect, and discover the beauty of your story.
The author invested a great deal of thought, research, and love in writing On Memory Pond.
The various chapters of On Memory Pond evoked different memories for me. I’m not big on writing, so I don’t journal, but I have used drawing (mostly word art) to help me sort through some painful memories.
As I read the book, many memories came flooding back (no surprise). I thought about how certain smells can take me right back to a moment 40 years ago—like the smell of a certain soap or perfume. I also thought about how specific memories creep into my head at night before I drift off to sleep—some joyous and some that still make me cringe all these years later.
I reflected on how some of my best memories and happiest times were spent with my grandparents when I was young. And thinking of them always makes me smile.
Another interesting fact I realized is that when I think about my memories, I see them in my mind’s eye as though I were an observer watching a movie, in the third person. I wonder if that’s true for everyone?
In reading On Memory Pond, I enjoyed my trip down memory lane!

The On Memory Pond book cover is an excellent choice for introducing the concept of the pond, helping us relate to our memories in a way that feels both personal and universally nostalgic, like stepping into a familiar story you didn’t know you’d forgotten.
I encourage the reader to take a look at the table of contents and then dive in to discover the real gems tucked within.
I found many such treasures in “Watch Out for the Turtles” and several others that stirred reflection, laughter, and more than a few ‘aha’ moments.
The list of researched materials used to develop On Memory Pond is very impressive, adding depth, credibility, and a rich layer of insight that truly sets it apart from other works in its genre.
Her voice is one we need more of: honest, warm, and capable of turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.
I hope this is not Claire’s last book—keep them coming!

On Memory Pond is a warm and thoughtful exploration of how our memories shape who we are and how we move through life.
Claire’s creative metaphors—like Distraction Turtles, Memory Frogs, and Dragonflies—make the abstract feel tangible and the emotional feel accessible.
One insight that deeply resonated with me is that “things hold more than dust.”
I think of a worn but cherished heirloom from my grandfather’s home, likely close to a century old, marked by a minor burn. When I dust it, I often pause and gently run my hand over that spot. It’s not just a blemish—it’s like touching his hand. A quiet hello. A moment of connection across time. On Memory Pond helped me see that these tiny, everyday moments can hold profound meaning.
On Memory Pond is especially meaningful for anyone navigating life transitions, interested in legacy, or simply looking to reconnect with the deeper meaning of everyday moments.
I can only imagine the rich, heartfelt conversations this book would inspire at book club discussions.

On Memory Pond is helping me to recognize peace, allowing me to share the finding of “harmony” with others.
My family of siblings is shaped by our memories of childhood trauma, consisting of verbal, physical, and sexual abuse. I am now 82, and my life’s erratic journey often held memories that added to the darkness.
Claire’s research confirms that our persona is developed mainly by memories of what was. The memories that we are currently making are our promises and hopes for the future.

I love how fun it is to read On Memory Pond. The short chapters encourage us to make positive life choices in our everyday lives.

On Memory Pond had me at its heartfelt dedication. The author's love and positivity shine through every page.
This book is an insightful exploration of how memory intertwines (loops) with our behavior and perceptions of the past, present, and possible future.
The author peels away at surface pretense to help each of us expose the building blocks of how our individuality is shaped. Along with the stories, she offers up tools to help resolve and strengthen memories, as well as to initiate positive changes in ourselves and our lives.
On Memory Pond isn't necessarily a self-help book, but rather an intriguing perspective on how memory influences our existence and shapes our futures.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys examining the world from a different perspective. It will challenge your perspective; make you pause and contemplate. Happy reading!

The section of On Memory Pond, entitled "Responding to Emotional Triggers," hit me like a brick.
I have a terrible memory buried deep inside me. It occasionally resurfaces without reason or warning. When that happens, it takes my breath away, and I imagine it did not happen to me. Once more, I bury it, but not before reliving the negative emotions associated with it. I have carried this trauma for decades.
The book, On Memory Pond, helped me learn to name my emotions, allowing me to "stay" there long enough to find the lesson. This has finally allowed me to see how it helped me become who I am today.
I have accepted that it happened. My perception has shifted. Thank you for the clarity!
I also especially love the chapter-ending quotes peppered throughout this book. They are superb punctuation marks that summarize each chapter perfectly. Love them!

On Memory Pond has already proven helpful for me as I work with a close family member who is struggling with dementia. The tools and techniques presented in the book are helpful as we strive to help her expand her recollections of memories long past.
As a lifelong fisherman who has spent many of my happiest hours beside water, On Memory Pond's beautifully written illustrations, comparing our memories to a pond, are uniquely and deeply personal to me.
Whether you're dealing with memory issues yourself, helping a loved one with memory issues, or someone seeking harmony with your memories, I believe On Memory Pond has something to offer everyone.

On Memory Pond Changed How I See My Past . . . And it Might Just Change Yours, As Well...
As Our Story Circle Grows — Every Memory Matters
Welcome to On Memory Pond! I'm so happy you're here!
I remember sitting with my mom and going through old photo albums. We laughed at outdated hairstyles from the 1980s, paused at faded expressions, and looked for images of people we once knew, now strangers.
The silence between us said what words never could. On Memory Pond was born in those quiet moments. This book aims to help you cherish your moments, just as I loved those fleeting hours with my mom.
Memories return to us at unexpected times, inviting us to pause, reflect, and sometimes smile.
Maybe your memories feel:
- Scattered
- Bittersweet
- A little heavy
Or maybe they shimmer like dragonflies over still water.
Either way, they matter. They're whispering something sacred.
That's why I'm doing something a little wild.
